COVID-19 Social Distancing Impacts

Seniors are the age group that is most at-risk, and even though isolation is typically the least desirable for seniors in the community, we do have to take this precautionary measure. At Barton Hills Assisted Living, it is our priority to maintain the health and safety of our residents, staff, as well as visiting family & medical personnel.  It has been more than three months since we began social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19.  Our team of professional care takers and nurses have an open line of communication with the appropriate organizations to help us prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Please visit the CDC websites for more information about senior care near Austin, TX during COVID-19.

We are also taking the following steps to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in addition to CDC and Government Guidelines:

  • Extra Sanitation
  •  Currently No Visitation
  •  Staff Wearing PPE constantly
  • Social Distancing
  •  Virtual Tours
  •  New Residents will have extra screening and an appropriate quarantine.
  •  We have stocked up on PPE and will continue to regularly procure more.

We are helping our residents in Assisted Living adapt to these changing circumstances. As seen below, we are providing options to communicate with your loved ones while we are social distancing. We provide these opportunities in order to be the best senior care in Austin, TX!

Virtual Hangouts & More Phone Calls – We are grateful for the many pieces of technology that we have available in order to stay in contact while in Senior Care, as this technology plays a huge part in keeping our residents connected to family. Barton Hills Assisted Living includes high-speed WiFi and we are happy to have our staff help our residents get on a video or phone call.  Please call Barton Hills to connect to your loved one on FaceTime, Skype, Google Hangouts, WhatsApp, or a similar video conferencing app to connect with your loved one.

Safety Guided Visits – Although outside visitation has been temporarily suspended, we hope to begin scheduling visits with loved ones again. This will come with a few extra safety guidelines when available. Some options may include window visits to help prevent the spread of any outside germs from contacting our residents. Please know that in the interim, we are accommodating the needs of your loved one with the highest attention to detail in Austin, TX.

During this ever-changing time we are still providing for the needs of our residents in assisted living. The same quality of care is being given to each individual senior, and we are also adding some extra precautions in order to maintain the health of your loved ones. We are happy to help you connect with your family and friends in these inventive ways so that you can maintain the emotional connection that is so helpful and beneficial for our residents.
